Although not the fastest or most maneuverable ship, the 100-gun 1st rate ship-of-the-line Royal Sovereign was a magnificent power on the seas. She was Admiral Collingwood’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar where she fought until the end of the battle even when most of her masts were shot away and she was severely damaged.
